Important announcement!

I am happy to announce that my down time hasn't been entirely down! I have redesigned the cover to my first novel Road to Redemption and re-released it on Amazon for Kindle!

I'm very excited about this and I hope to bring this some new life and more exposure as I continue to work on the next novel in this series as well as other stand alone novels and series.

Centuries ago Michel made a deal with the devil and now, for longer than he cares to think about, he's only just managed to stay one step ahead of the death and destruction cursed to follow him for eternity. Now his wanderings have brought him to the strange city of La Port and a girl who knows a thing or two about the supernatural. Paige is determined to rid Michel of his curse and free him from Satan's grasp. When Satan discovers her involvement in his affairs, Michel must tread the depths of hell itself to save her and maybe save himself as well.

I've included links below for a few regions! Thank you for taking the time to look at my post. If you do purchase my novel. double thanks.

Life Update

Just popping in to let everyone know that I am still alive. Overwhelmed with the move and the dog shows and everything else going on in my life, but still alive.

I also just wanted to direct you guys to a fun writing project that I am doing with a good friend. I promise I won't let it cut too much into my writing time. However, I am very excited to share thus with all of you!.

Please take a moment and check out Untamed Writers!

That's Life

I know it may seem like it's been a while since I've posted anything, but sometimes life just gets away from a person. I have so many exciting and wonderful things going on in my life that there are moments I just plain forget to share about with all of you.

Some of the biggest news in my life happens to the fact that I have recently purchased my very first home. One of the big mental hurdles I face when writing is having a dedicated writing space. This is one thing that I am very much hoping to change in my new location. While I won't have an office set up (I opted for a workout room instead) I have decided to make my kitchen my writing location. A little chair, a little table and coffee near at hand make it ideal.

For those that know me a little better, you may also know that I have a show dog that I am actively showing. The original plan was to get her Canadian Championship and then shave her down, but somehow I have been convinced to continue showing her this year. Alright, I'll be honest with all of you, I love showing her so it wasn't that hard to convince me to continue.

I have tried to edge in a little time here and there for writing with my main focus being on Depths of Darkness, the sequel of Road to Redemption. It is proceeding slowly due to the significant lack of time, but it is proceeding all the same! I can't wait to announce that when it was ready to send to Amazon and iBooks for purchase!

Ah, the Holidays.

After continuing some writing on all of my works in progress, plotting out a new novel, and jotting down another vague idea to be developed at a later time, I took a little break from the whirlwind of writing life and put a little effort into making my living area a little more liveable before the holidays sprung on me and tied up my hands.
However, in few days I shall be on vacation and visiting my best friend and darling nephew until the New Year. As always, I do intend to leave some time for writing, but we know how that goes. Fun festivities, playing with my darling nephew and of course drinking.
I will, of course, keep working away at my works in progress. I’ll keep you all updated as best I can and hopefully soon you’ll be hearing an update about one of these stories being completed!
Cheers.

Works In Progress

As promised, here is a post on everything I am currently working on.
I have several projects that I am currently working on. I am actively in process of writing two new novels, revising a third, and I am in the process of plotting out another novel.

Depths of Darkness – the (hopefully) long awaited next novel in the Saints & Sinners series that takes place before the currently published novel, Road to Redemption. This novel is focussed on Iain’s story before he became a gatekeeper. Iain has recently retired as a detective with the La Port PD, but is brought back as a consultant after several horrendous and mysterious murders were committed. It is currently in progress as a first draft which is not quite halfway complete.

Good Intentions – this is the first book in what is expected to be a four book series. It is called the Shadowlands Series and is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi. Taking place over a century after seismic upheaval, heavy solar flare activity and a devastating virus have left few survivors behind. Fragmented societies have grown, but one man, Rubel Sabine, thinks that the world could be greater than ever was before and is willing to do almost anything to make his vision a reality. Good Intentions is currently being revised.

Bitter Blindness – this is book two in the Shadowlands Series and takes place approximately ten years after the first novel. This book deals with the consequences of the actions and decisions made by many characters in the first novel. Some plans come together and others begin to fall apart as the land becomes polarized and the threat of war looms over their heads. This novel is currently in progress as a first draft and is also about halfway complete.

I am planning on having completed all four first drafts of this series prior to submitting them to a publisher. Wish me luck in finding the right home for this exciting new series!

So what else is in the works? Well, as mentioned above, I did have a new novel idea come to me recently and have only just begun plotting it to see if the idea is workable. Of course, I have dozens of ideas waiting to be worked out. I’ll keep you up-to-date on how all my current works in progress are doing!

Whoops! I slipped

So, it's been more than a year since I've posted anything here. I bet no one reads this anymore, not that I had many readers before.

However, here I am, back on the wagon hopefully. I'm still working on the series I planned in the last post I wrote. I am in the midst of book 2/4 right now.  In fact, in my next post I'm going to tell you all about what I am working on!

This post is just to let everyone know that I am still alive and hale!

...Silence...

Things here have been quiet since Blood on the Stars finished - and for good reason. I've been working hard on trying to get myself ready for NaNo. Last year's novel was a fly by the seat of my pants adventure and the results of doing so are here for you to read. This year, I'm taking extra care in plotting the novels I'm going to be writing.

That's right. Novels. As in more than one.

These novels won't be posted here. I'm working for actual publishable material this time around. Which is why I'm not just doing one novel. I have an idea for a series so I am doing it all at once and working straight through at top speed even past the end of November. Or at least, that's the plan.

Of course, I have a lot of work to do. In fact, one of the reasons I am taking a moment to write a blog post (besides my guilt) is because I am feeling so overwhelmed by the amount of prep this series is taking. However, I think it's going to be worth it in the end. I can feel it deep down in the bottom of whatever passes as my soul. This prep work will make all the difference.

It has already, in it's unfinished form, been called overly organized and scarily detailed. I've added to it since then. I think, perhaps, that it has actually taken on a life of it's own.

I'm trying something a little different this time around. I've actually created an excel spreadsheet with multiple tabs to keep track of everything that I need to know about this world. From the characters to the timeline to the plots and even potential titles for the books.

Under the Characters tab I have all these headings for the 21 characters I have (so far) created. Name, Story Position, Represents, Associated Symbol, Associated Colour, Actual Alignment, Apparent Alignment, Goals, Driving Influences/Basic Backstory . In case you're wondering this series is very loosely based on something else so I needed to keep track of who they represent from my source material.

With only two weeks to go and I still haven't finished nailing down everything under the characters tab, the timeline isn't finished and the plot hasn't been touched since I first came up with the idea perhaps you can see why I'm a little stressed about this.

Not to mention, this year I am coming back as a second year member liaison for my area and I still have all my ML duties to take care of, refreshing the area website for a new year and getting the forum up and chatting for a new year as well! And let's not forget that it's still hunting season so my weekends are taken up with the need to fill my freezer.

So yeah, I'm a little overwhelmed and I seem some late nights in that last week leading up to November 1, but it'll be worth it. It will be worth it.
